And yes, there are other circumstances when it would feel wrong to start dissecting someone's achievements/beliefs and no, I can't list them all right now. I think this is what I find most frustrating about this argument - I've a finely tuned sense of when I consider letting rip appropriate but can't communicate the principles behind it very well eg. it'd have been wrong to lay into Gordon Brown when his first daughter died/during her short life. It'd have been wrong to attack Norman Tebbit immediately after the Brighton bombing.
