Ramblings from my desk,
Oooh, exciting news - it looks like I can move in with a friend in Kings Cross at the end of the month until the middle of August, which'll be wonderful.
And I get to go and stay with a friend tonight - which'll be nice; I can't remember the last time I saw her. This means I should get more sleep tonight - on a nice comfy sofa, and have to spend less time travelling tomorrow.
Less thrilling news - Open Uni course is going badly, in that there's something due in tomorrow eg. it ought to have been in the post today, that's simply not going to get done on time, if at all - I'm seriously considering giving it all up, because I need the spare time I have to do job hunting. I don't know. I feel like a bit of a failure - Oxford graduate ought to be able to cope with what looks like six weeks worth of work (trying to compare it to Oxford type work) over a year, and certainly ought not to get into this kind of muddle over handing stuff in on time. I guess it's partly that I don't care too much - I'm doing it for my own amusment after all. I also feel really quite silly approaching my tutor, given that I've fairly deliberately avoided going to classes; though to be fair, when I've actually sat down and worked my way through the material, it *has* made sense. I don't know what to do. Any ideas welcome.
Oh, and have I mentioned that I *hate* job application forms. 'Describe your greatest achievement.' Well I don't have a greatest achievement - there are a number of things I've achieved, yes, but they aren't comparable - how do I compare greatness when, for instance, dealing with achievements like - ensuring enough stewards for an event, rejeuvenating interest in charties, getting a 2.1, organising an activity for Guides, getting a refund from ntl etc. etc.
And I have to wait until tomorrow evening for some of my sister's cake, *pout* - this is a cake involving lots of cooking chocolate (or should that be vegalate), crushed digestive biscuits, a tin of condensed milk and some marshmallows. It's gorgous - though tis even nicer when the marshmallows are replaced by rasins or sultanas. I think a collection of recipies is a good idea for my website, when I get round to doing some more to it.
