Borders
Lots of new faces last night so I promised a name check.
neonchameleon was waiting for me when I got to Borders (I'd nipped into Superdrug for milk and hadn't left work very early as I was trying to do some LPC prep). We sat and chatted and wondered about who else would come along, thinking that it would be a quiet evening.
mstevens came and wibbled about lack of caffeine and then came
arkady.
At this point a couple of people who I'd looked at earlier on and wondered 'hmm, is that
j4 and
addedentry' came over and spoke to us and turned out to be those two fine people:-).
hoiho appeared around then - though I didn't recognise him and had to ask him who he was! Then
hairyears arrived, followed by
cyberiantiger.
The sudden influx of people between 7.30 - 7.45pm meant that my carefully organised lists of restaurant phone numbers weren't going to be a lot of help, because at that point we were hungry and wanted to go and eat right then, rather than phoning around and finding out who could fit us in. I plan for all the eventualities I can, but I can't see a way to plan round this one. So we ended up in Wagamama - our default venue for whenever there are a lot of us.
Ewt came to join us more or less as we were finishing our meals and had some food while other people had extra cups of green tea. Soon after that it was time to go home - being home by 10.40 or so on a Tuesday evening is a good thing.

While evening slips away
Having been out in the first place is an even better thing.
And it was good to meet lots of new people.
Re: While evening slips away
True - it doesn't always feel like that for me - I have LPC classes on Weds & Thus evenings and that makes late Tuesday nights hard to handle.
And it was good to meet lots of new people.
*chuckles* - it's a fairly random group of people:-)
Cities on fire, phones out of order

We thought about coming to BU, but there was at least one person with us who didn't want to go there and when we left Wagamamas it was late enough that I just wanted to go home. See you soon:)

My phone number can be found (http://www.livejournal.com/users/karen2205/36699.html) - phone/text me if you can't find us.
(and 'cos I've had a couple of people get this wrong - it's the Borders on Oxford Street, near Oxford Circus tube station (not the one on Charing Cross road). Come to the Starbucks on the second floor and we should be fairly obvious).
