Ramblings
Made a bolonaisey type concoction last night, which I've frozen, so I now have three/four easy meals in the freezer, which is good.
I didn't manage to take the rubbish down to the bins (if anyone sees me online this evening shout at me, because I must do that.
I have managed to lose my travel card, so getting to work/home this afternoon costs £4. Grr - I don't know what I might have done with it - I don't normally lose things like that, but it wasn't in any of the places it ought to have been when I looked for it this morning. I was pleasantly surprised when they said that a replacement costs £10 - so I don't have to spend £75 on a new one.
Ah well, will have a good look for it when I get in this evening. And I guess I do need some new passport photos, since I need one for the College of Law and one for my driving licence - since I've moved house I have to get a new driving licence, and now they're doing these photo card ones, I'm going to have to get one of those. But I first need to go and see about visitors' parking permits - because I think I need to show my licence to buy them. But I can't do that until tomorrow, cos I need either a council tax bill or a lease, neither of which I have atm.
Then I need to register with a doctor, book an eye test appointment
and find the local library.
I have, however, sorted out everything bill wise - water, electricity, gas and a telephone line.
Any tips on contents insurance would be good. As would any suggestions on how to store books, files, papery things etc in a flat that I'm going to be sharing with someone.
Going to bed when I'm on my own feels the weirdest - it's then that I notice that there's no one there but me - or the times when I start doing DIYey things and think - 'how long would it be before someone found me if I injured myself' - on that note I must go and introduce myself to my neighbours.
Now, on to dinner parties - who would like to come and visit me for an evening of food, drink and conversation (without any smoking, thanks for reminding me of that
chocaholic7)?
*cue everyone running away 'cos they can't think of a more dreadful way to spend an evening*
There is something about the ringing of a telephone that goes right through me - I'm the only secretary in today, so all the phones are going crazy and I'm getting really pissed off, but no matter - just an hour to go.
