My first meme

OK - taken this from [livejournal.com profile] aendr to fill some spare time at work. What does meme mean/where did it come from? Just curious.

[Spell your name backwards]
5022neraK

[The story behind your LJ user name]
Err - My name's Karen and I was born on 22nd May - couldn't come up with anything more creative at the time.

[Are you a lesbian?]
Nope (though never say never - who knows what might happen if drunk enough etc)

[How old?]
21

[Where do you live?]
Tadley (midway between Reading, Newbery and Basingstoke)

[4 words that sum you up]
Cuddly, stubborn, practical, compassionate,

DESCRIBE YOUR-

[Wallet]
I don't have a wallet, I have a purse, that's blue, purple, red and fawn. It's traditional purse size - so it's nice and big and heavy, so that I can't lose it.

[Hairbrush]
Pink and plastic - I've been planning on buying myself a nice big wooden one since about Christmas, but haven't got round to it yet.

[Toothbrush]
Boots and blue.

[Jewellery worn daily]
A fairly heavy silver necklace that I rarely take off - I always get worried that I'll accidentally break very fine chains so tend to only wear them when going out etc.

[Pillow cover]
White with purple/pink flowers - 100% cotton.

[Blanket]
Umm - well on my bed I have a summer weight duvet with a cover that matches my pillow, and then a patchwork quilt - that was my mother's first attempt at quilt making - she now owns a patchwork and quilting shop in Wallingford - http://www.villagefabrics.co.uk"> Village Fabrics

When I'm camping, I always used to have two big brown blankets and an old fashioned sleeping bag - I treated myself to a more modern sleeping bag last September (and it's proved ever so useful already - not for camping, but for going and staying with people) so I doubt I'll *need* both those blankets. I then have a bright pink campfire blanket, that I've had since I was eleven, that's covered in badges, and used to jingle a lot, cos lots of the badges were pin on ones.

[Coffee cup]
At home I have an enormous coffee mug - that was a Christmas present from the Body Shop - it's white with blue and yellow lines denoating squares. At work I have a mug with a picture of a cow and the words 'mad cow' on it.

[Sunglasses]
Umm - can't really remember it's been so long since I've worn them - I do have a pair of fairly plain, cheap, normal sun glasses, and somewhere I have clip on shades that go over my normal glasses.

[Underwear]
Um - variety of colours of cotton stuff - All my bras are white, apart from one which is beige.

[Shoes]
Err, well right now, I'm wearing my all purpose, flat black shoes that I can walk anywhere in for any length of time - 40 euros in Dublin last summer and more than worth it. Apart from those, I have hundreds of pairs of shoes sitting about - some of which are going outy, others are meant to be for work, but I don't really need them for work atm, so I don't wear them, cos they're not particularly comfortable - mainly because I haven't given myself a chance to wear them in.....I guess I've also got some trainers and sandals I where in the summer, as well as odd things - like cheap jelly sandals for swimming in the sea and my 'driving shoes' - a very old pair of canvas shoes I wore when I was learning to drive (not that I can drive now, but don't have the time to learn atm)

[Handbag]
Um - plain black on that comes down to my hip - but I tend not to use a handbag - I live out of my rucksack, which is bigger and a much nicer way to carry all the things I think I can't live without.... When I'm going out I have a variety of evening bags that go with different things - but haven't had occassion to use those for a while.

[Favourite trousers]
Um - the pair I did my finals in - a couple of sizes too big and very loose and baggy - draw string waist and just comfortable. Then there's my jeans and my green cords, and the other three pairs I tend to wear to work.

[Cologne/Perfume]
I like chloe and various others, but tend not to bother with it too often - I have loads of it sitting on my dressing table at home - and even a bottle in my make up bag that lives at work, but still tend not to use it much.

[CD in stereo right now]
None - am at work - and there wouldn't be if I was at home - I'd be more likely to be watching telly/listening to radio 4.

[Tattoos]
None

[Piercings]
None - people often tried to persuade me to get my ears pierced, and I said no on the grounds that it'd hurt/having seen a friend at school with a nasty infection. But I've come to realise that if I actually wanted pierced ears I wouldn't mind the pain (I don't object to needles); it's simply the case that I don't want pierced ears atm.

[What you are wearing now]
Black socks and the black shoes I described above. Navy trousers - cos going straight to Guides from work, and a pink top.

[Hair]
Shoulder length, and needs washing. Still redy brown at the ends having been dyed ages ago, but darker brown towards the top. I really should find some time to cut it a bit. I absolutely *hate* having other people play about with my hair; and while board at some point last year I decided to cut my hair myself and it worked. It's great - it's free and I get exactly what I want, not what someone else thinks'll look good.

[Makeup]
Atm none - I'm in far too much of a rush to be bothered before I leave the house in the morning, and can rarely be bothered with using the stuff in the bag I keep at work. If anything I go for lipstick. But I do have nice sprayable foundation that doesn't make me go orange and eyeshadows I like for when I want to put make up on.

WHO or WHAT (was/is/are) -

[In my mouth]
Is that a trick question? Nothing apart from teeth and a tounge.

[In my head]
All kinds of things - memories of happy/sad times, hopes for the fairly uncertain future, annoyance at not being able to decide what to do next etc. etc.

[Wishing]
That I get a training contract/civil service job/job in politics quickly and that I enjoy it, oh and that I find somewhere to live in London.

[After this]
Rush to Waterloo, buy dinner, get on the train, get on the bus, go to Guides, go home, watch Angel without falling asleep, check email, wander around IRC, then go to bed.

[Talking to]
One of the people I work for.

[Eating]
Nothing atm - but will be quite soon.

[Fetishes]
None that I'm going to mention here - if anyone cares I'll write a friends only entry for them.

[If you could get away with it and murder anyone, who and for what reason?]
At the moment no one - my murderous impulses tend to fade quite quickly.

[Person you wish you could see right now]
Um, no one in particular - there's no one I have an urge to see right now; though I suppose there are people I'd theroetically like to see at some point soon, even thought that's never going to happen.

[Is next to you]
My work computer, telephone, all sorts of other things you'd expect to find on a desk, plus coffee and hot chocolate supplies, and my rucksack sitting on the floor.

[Something you're looking forward to in the upcoming months]
Jury service next week - not sure looking forward to it is the right term though. What else - the finding a job/somewhere in London thing. Hopefully managing to stay in better contact with people from college.

[Something that you are deathly afraid of?]
Balloons, don't ask. Sex - well a little afraid.

[Do you like candles]
Yes.

[Do you like hot wax]
Maybe, never tried it - might be worth doing someday.

[Do you like incense]
Not really.

[Do you like the taste of blood]
It's ok - but I haven't tasted it since the last time I cut something inside my mouth, so I can't really remember what it tastes like, and it tends to get mixed with the taste you get when you cry.

[Do you believe in love]
Yes.

[Do you believe in soul mates]
Yes.

[Do you believe in love at first sight]
Not sure - lust is more a first sight thing, than true love.

[Do you believe in Heaven]
Think so.

[Do you believe in forgiveness]
Yes. Though I wish I wouldn't try to fool myself into thinking I've forgiven people when I actually haven't, and still get urges to take issue with their behaviour. It is sometimes better to have the argument before forgiving someone.

[Do you believe in God]
Think so.

[Who is your worst enemy?]
Noone really.

[If you could have any animal for a pet]
I wouldn't; I wouldn't trust myself to care for it properly.

[What is the latest you've ever stayed up]
From 8amish Sunday morning, until 6.30pm on Tuesday. That was unusual even for me - my normal essay crisis was from 9/10am one morning until betime - 11.30/midnight if not later the following day.

[Ever been to Belgium?]
Nope.

[Can you eat with chopsticks]
Just about, if the rice is sticky enough.

[What's your favorite coin?]
All British ones - cos they're easy to tell apart, unlike American ones.

[What are 5 cities you wouldn't mind relocating to?]
London, definately London, or if not London, then Oxford. Other than that I don't know enough about the cities to know whether I'd want to live there.

Tsk

Ally and I think that you really need to master the lj-cut tag as soon as humanly possible, and then go back and edit this.

I think that this is a good example of the things that you shouldn't post on a public forum. I mean, why tell the entire world that you're afraid of sex - some kind of chronic exhibitionism?! Its not that its a stupid thought to have, but to tell everyone about something that is not merely *supposed* to be private but also makes anyone reading it hideously uncomfortable?!! Ugh. Please, just think about other people'sboundaries as well as your own.
