The sandals in question are one of the very few pairs of high heels I can walk in comfortably - they have a big wide heel and adjustable straps so I can get them attached to my feet firmly. They're black and simple, with a black bow for decoration. I love my Birkenstocks, but wouldn't wear them to a black tie event.
Get a pedicure and you'll be just fine. Nicely done toe-nails are always fun, even if fingernail polish is not your thing. Get them to put a pattern on the big toe nail.
I concur. Except I usually ignore the itty bitty shoes thing and go with shoes with closed toes which don't completely kill my feet and ignore the social mores for comfort and practicality.
