Hayfever

There's been lots of whinging about hayfever recently, so tis time for a poll. If anyone's got anything else to say throw it in a comment - umm the only tip I've heard and not tried is eating local honey for several months before the hayfever season - I'm intending to start doing that soon though, since I've got Hampshire honey and that's where I'm camping this summer (I've never seen London produced honey - if such a substance exists please point me in the right direction).

I did seem to suffer from it for the first time last spring/summer, while pregnant. When of course the sensible options for medication were few. I took nothing, sniffled and snuffled, and it went away. So far this year, no recurrence of symptoms.

For what it's worth, the pollen count for today is supposed to be 8 (out of 10).

I've heard of the local honey idea, but don't like honey. Mead made from local honey might be a suitable alternative though l-)

I'm skeptical though of the whole idea though. Surely the plants that transfer pollen via bees are precisely the ones that aren't going to splort the stuff into the atmosphere and thus to my eyeballs.

Today, cloudy, pollen count around 5, my symptoms are 3.

Yesterday, sunny, pollen count around 8, my symptoms around 7.

I think this year's been far worse than last, and mainly because we've had such a dry May that there's loads of dust kicking around. Just look at how milky the "blue" sky was yesterday. Hopefully, we'll get some rain soon and damp things down a bit.
