LiveJournal and what it's for......

Recalling hsenag's recent post about LiveJournal replacing Usenet newsgroups, and the whole host of responses to my last post re telephones, I'm trying to decide what LiveJournal is good for, and what's best conducted using a different interface.

The biggest problem with having a discussion in comments is that you can only reply to one comment at a time, unlike in news or email, where you receive all the posts and can reply to more than one at once/direct the same remarks to more than one person. LJ's not designed for arguments (hsenag feel free to prove me wrong:-))

The biggest problem with having a discussion in comments is that you can only reply to one comment at a time, unlike in news or email, where you receive all the posts and can reply to more than one at once/direct the same remarks to more than one person. Thanks to chocaholic7 I know what an Oyster card is, and I'm on my way to getting one, yay:-) No more waiting for the ticket to go into the machine and come back again, just swipe it over the top and I'll be through.

This is going to be the first weekend I've had to myself for a while, which'll be nice. No need to go food shopping, since I did that yesterday - just need to go to the bank before it closes to deposit some cheques. And I guess I should try to stay ahead with my LPC reading, and maybe do that PLR thing. I'm sure it's not so difficult as it sounds.

First driving lesson since 1999 on Sunday - will be nice to see just what I've remembered/forgotten/what's different about London. Stupid DVLA still haven't sent me my passport or my new photocard driving licence back, but I've just phoned BSM and that won't be a problem 'cos I have a theory certificate. (There's a £1 000 fine if you change your address and don't tell the DVLA).

I haven't been sleeping well - at least, I've been waking up far too early, and last night I was plagued with bad dreams of the 'you're going to be executed' variety. I *hate* those. And lack of sleep is why my mood is 'bitchy' - I guess 'argumentative' might be a better description though.
