Bits and pieces
Apr. 22nd, 2004 11:31 amA couple of questions for those of you with driving licences - is there any point in me asking for provisional entitlement for HGVs + PCV (passenger carrying vehicles)?
To do so I'd have to have a medical report completed by my doctor and that'll cost between £20-£50 (as well as time off work, unless I'm very lucky about when I can book the appointment). As
hsenag pointed out to me elsewhere, it is possible that I'll want to be able to drive minibuses and the minibus permit scheme has limitations eg. can't drive abroad using them.
But I'm not sure whether I should go through the hassle now or wait until I actually need it/move jobs. Once it's done it'll be valid till I'm 45....and I guess it might be proportionally cheaper to have it done now than in several years time.
Thoughts please.
Oh and Caron Keating - she was one of 'my' generation of Blue Peter presenters - I remember thinking the programme went downhill after she left. I always resented her for sharing my name but not spelling it properly - I blamed her when people assumed my Karen began with a 'C'. It was a huge shock to hear of her death last week.
