karen2205: Me with proper sized mug of coffee (Default)
I've read a *lot* of posts over the past few days about the US elections - it seems to be a topic about which we all have opinions, and we're more interested in writing about it ourselves than in discussing it with someone else (no doubt someone's going to point me to a post on the subject with hundreds of comments) - because we all come at it from cross purposes.

There are a couple of companies in the UK - Innocent (http://www.innocentdrinks.co.uk) who make fruit drinks and Lush (really nice bath/beauty products) who seem to be playing a very clever game - they've a marketing strategy that appeals to our sense of fairness/cuteness/niceness and both seem to be doing well out of it. See, we can change the world - it's in these firms' interests to be seen to be ethical and for so long as they make money being ethical they'll continue to act this way.
