karen2205: Me with proper sized mug of coffee (Default)
A whole load of things were thrown by me feeling so ill on Monday - and I'm only just now finding some time to sort them all - the electricity meter will be changed on the morning of 7th September and I've an appointment with the practice nurse to register with the surgery on 2nd September at 8.30am (well that was thrown by me not managing to leave work early enough for the last appointment). So just need to book an eye test now - I think that'll have to wait for a couple of weeks because I think I want to go home this weekend so that I take home my sorted camp licence stuff (yes, I have still got to do the sorting) and return some bits to Monica etc.

I need some pieces of dowel to hang some wall hangings. I also need to go to Sainsburys and do some major food shopping - now that I've got a working freezer there's no reason I can't go back to cooking really large meals and freezing them, so I just need to buy myself some more plastic containers to store individual portions.

Now on to the exciting bit - if you are aged between 15-25 (are UK based!) and fancy three nights doing some sort of exploring then I want to hear from you! The next part of my Queen's Guide Award involves organising an 'exploration' - I don't know what I want to explore just yet, I'm still waiting for inspiration to strike. We'll be staying in Youth Hostels/B&Bs and will be exploring by public transport/car. Other people have explored a range of breweries, the area the Chalet School books were set in - so the range of what I could explore is vast. We will be self catering (I'm not ruling out buying a couple of meals, but for cost reasons I want to aim to self cater most of it). There are no restrictions on sex (except that I have to have parental permission if I have anyone under 18 with me and there are men in the group). The only form I will make you fill in is a health form and you can seal that in an envelope so that it's only opened if you're very ill and are being sent to hospital. Oh and I will ask you to tell me your dietary requirements so that I don't poison you. There has to be at least four of us and a maximum of eight (including me) but I'm not too worried about that for the moment, I just want to hear if anyone's theoretically interested. I suspect this won't be organised until next Easter/Summer, given how busy I am.
