God, today's proving to be a very long work day:-( I want a holiday!
Got to leave work at lunch time on New Year's eve, went to Sainsburys and then home where I cooked (braising steak cut into small pieces, coated with flour then sealed, to which I added chopped peppers, garlic & mange tout and cooked for a while. Then I added a nice large tub of creme fraiche and grated cheese to create a cheesy sauce for it - it's turned out rather nice, except that the meat's a bit tough - maybe I should have left it to cook for longer?).

marnameow's party, where I met lots of people - trying to name check them all'd probably get me in trouble, but it was very nice to meet uon at long last. Having the words to Auld Lang Syne was something of a novelty - but then being somewhere other than at my Mum's house was an even bigger novelty. Interesting firework displays and then a night of conversation, followed by a trip to the park at around 6am. I'd forgotten how much fun swings and roundabouts are!
I spent the rest of the weekend doing very little (though I've a long list of things I should have done!) but it was probably just what I needed to recuperate before life becomes very busy again.
Coffee in Borders is happening tonight (if you're wandering round here having met me on Friday night and don't know what I'm talking about - essentially a smallish group of us gathers in Borders for coffee, cake and intelligent discussion. We then generally have a food expedition at around 8-8.30pm. Everyone's welcome, poke me for more info.)
